INTERFAITH COMMUNICATION IN THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION 4.0: COLLABORATION AND SYNERGY

The industrial revolution 4.0 is the fourth phase of the history of the industrial revolution that dated back in the 18th century. The advancement of new technology has driven the emergence of technological innovations that further bring fundamental changes to people's lives. Today we are in an era of dramatic and continuous change so that the predictions about the future can no longer be solely based on conventional wisdom or historical precedents.

In this fast-paced era of change there is a great danger of being left behind. Yet, there will also be a great opportunity if we can understand the nature and the way how change takes place. All of these issues raise what is called as the Disruption Era. Disruption does not only refer to today's change but it also reflects the meaning of the phenomenon of tomorrow's change (the future change). This era of disruption requires our readiness to face and anticipate it. Every person, institution, or organization is required to be able to adapt to changes that are so abruptly fast. Anyone and anything that is not ready to adapt to this rapid change will soon be abandoned and finally forgotten. The present era requires everyone and everything to quickly adapt and change.

This phenomenon is unavoidable, but it becomes a new opportunity so that every community needs to prepare itself. The basis of this era is digitalization by using comprehensive data analysis so that new literacy capabilities are needed. Literacy capabilities include data literacy, technology literacy and human literacy. Data literacy is related to the ability to read, analyze and make thinking conclusions based on data and information (big data) obtained. Technology literacy is related to the ability to understand how machines work. People apply sophisticated technology and work based on technological equipment in order to get maximum results.

Human literacy is related to communication skills, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity and innovation.

Through scientific studies conducted during the progress of this international Seminar and Call for Paper forum; experts, practitioners and academics will be invited to discuss the impact of the industrial revolution 4.0 on business, political, educational, social and cultural life, and they will also collaboratively examine the impact of the industrial revolution 4.0 to the patterns and practices of communication between religious people both in national and international circles. From this international forum some problems can also be identified relating to the effects of disruption towards individuals, society, institutions and countries and during the progress of this forum we can also think of various solutions that are useful and can be implemented as preventive, curative, and innovative actions to tackle the negative effect of this age of industrial revolution in various aspects of people's lives.

To adapt and overcome various issues emerged from the phenomenon of change that is so rapid, some changes of character are needed which consist of: first, the mindset change; second, transcendental values’ change; third, behavioral change (behavioral approach) which basically requires some more changes in culture. Therefore, these changes in character will be greatly needed to advance the Indonesian nation amidst increasingly competitive global competition. Changing to adopt better characters basically means instilling noble values (religious values, cultural traditions and values of national philosophy) to shape the character of the nation. One of the strategic roles of tertiary institutions is to change the character and thought and practice of the best communication in the midst of the changing dynamics of the Industrial Age 4.0 and foster better communication between beliefs and cultures that are increasingly diverse, in order to stay in synergy and harmony.
