PROSES DAN HAMBATAN PRESERVASI INFORMASI DIGITAL (SEBUAH STUDI KASUS KELOMPOK REMAJA SISWA AEC DALAM PROSES PELESTARIAN INFORMASI DIGITAL DAN HAMBATANNYA)

Abstract


Living in this digital era, people are required to understand how to preserve digital information that can be easily accessed for the next generation. However, the problems faced are that many people who use these technological facilities do not understand the way to use them properly, so that the existing technology can not be used optimally. This study is the result of an observation conducted on a group of students of Armidale English College who undergone a preservation information digital traing. Teenagers have been selected because they are very close to dealing with digital technology. Thus, the study focused on two research questions; (1) How is the preservation of digital information carried out by a group of students of AEC in Soreang? (2) What kind of problems do they face during the time of preservation? This study used a qualitative approach with case study descriptive method. Data collection techniques are: observation, interviews and documentation study. The results concluded that these teenagers used their 'smartphones' in doing preservation of digital information and transferred them into their laptops, but the teenagers have admitted there are some obstacles ranging from unfamiliarity on how to use these digital technology and also that these digital technology can also suffer errors
