Pengaruh Zumba Fitness terhadap Kualitas Tidur Mahasiswi Tingkat II Fakultas Kedokteran Unisba Tahun Akademik 2016–2017

Abstrak
Kualitas tidur adalah tingkat baik buruknya tidur, yang dipengaruhi oleh hormon, penyakit, usia, stres, gaya hidup, aktivitas fisik, dan konsumsi obat. Zumba merupakan salah satu aktivitas fisik aerobik jenis dance-based fitness. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh Zumba fitness terhadap kualitas tidur pada mahasiswi tingkat II Fakultas Kedokteran Unisba tahun akademik 2016–2017. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimental two group pre- and post-test design dengan analisis data menggunakan metode uji chi-square derajat kepercayaan 95%, dengan jumlah sampel 21 mahasiswi pada setiap kelompok melalui random sampling dan memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Subjek kelompok Zumba diberi perlakuan Zumba fitness selama 60 menit dengan frekuensi 3 kali seminggu selama 1 bulan. Kualitas tidur dinilai menggunakan kuesioner The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh Zumba fitness terhadap kualitas tidur, yang ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan bermakna jumlah subjek penelitian yang memiliki kualitas tidur baik yaitu sebanyak 14 orang (p≤0,001). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah Zumba fitness dapat meningkatkan kualitas tidur. Zumba menyebabkan peningkatan kadar hormon endorfin, nor epinefrin serta neurotransmitter dopamin dan serotonin dalam tubuh. Hal ini berkontribusi pada penururunan tingkat stres, peningkatan suasana hati (mood) dan rasa kantuk sehingga kualitas tidur menjadi meningkat.

Abstract
Sleep quality is a good or bad level of sleep. It is influenced by hormones, illness, age, stress, lifestyle, physical activities, and drugs consumption. Zumba is a type of dance-based fitness aerobic activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of Zumba fitness on sleep quality at female medical students of Unisba at academic year 2016-2017. The method was experimental two group pre- and post-test design with data analysis using Chi Square test of 95% confidence degree, with sample number 21 female students in each group through random sampling and fulfilling inclusion criteria. The subjects of the Zumba group were given Zumba fitness for 60 minutes with frequency 3 times a week for 1 month. Sleep quality was assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire. The results showed that there is influence of Zumba fitness to sleep quality, which is indicated by the significant increase of the number of research subjects who have good sleep quality that is 14 people (p≤0.001). The conclusion of this research is Zumba fitness can improve sleep quality. Zumba causes elevated levels of endorphins, nor epinephrine and neurotransmitters of dopamine and serotonine in the body. This contributes to lower stress levels, increased mood and drowsiness so sleep quality increases.
